I have been writing about music professionally, both programme notes and journalism, for over thirty years. I have a BA (Hons) degree in music from Nottingham University, and am an adult education tutor for the WEA. I have also given pre-concert talks and presentations for recorded music societies. My interests and sympathies are very catholic, covering a wide range of periods, genres and styles, though I tend to regard twentieth-century British music (Elgar onwards) as a kind of home base.
